| Texas pecan comes in a variety of grain types & colors. The heart wood is a red/orange earth tone, while the wood obtained from the outer portion of the log can have an iridescent blue/ green tint or may also contain large amounts of spalting. Although Texas pecan lumber is relatively inexpensive to purchase in the raw, the price of the furniture that we hand-craft from Texas pecan reflects its extremely dense properties & its inherent ability to burn saw blades & resist sanding. When sanded to 220 grit & hand rubbed with a clear tung oil finish, Texas pecan shines with a beautiful iridescent sheen. |
